Ministry of Health (MOH) confirmed that a frontliner, Dr Ali Noor Hassan had passed away on Monday (January 18) while on duty at the Covid-19 battlefront. However, the cause of death remains confidential.
Dr Ali Noor Hassan’s death became viral after his story was posted on Facebook by Skuad Pengurusan Jenazah Malaysia (SPJM), where Dr Ali was also a registered member of the team since 2018. The group also shared on it’s Facebook page what it said was the last picture of Dr Ali taken by his friend before his death.
According to MOH, it is understood that Dr Ali’s health began to decline and he has been admitted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur since early December 2020 due to other illnesses and has gone through several treatments.
“This is his final picture, taken by his friend before he fell sick due to fatigue and workload, besides the lack of time to rest after working as the frontliner of MOH to curb the spread of Covid-19.”
“He fell asleep while on duty and fainted,” the statement said in the entry.
The squad expressed that his demise is a loss for the committed frontliners.
Thank you for your service to the country, Dr Ali.
Everyone, please stay home and comply with SOP during this MCO.
